Healing and empowerment through yoga
“As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.”
Hello! It’s nice that you’re there.
I am Eva, a passionate yoga teacher, feminist and endowarrior. I want to empower women to take their health and well-being into their own hands with yoga and other tools.
I also want to provide women with a platform through which they can come together to exchange ideas in a safe space, to strengthen each other, and to return together to their personal strength. In community we can mirror each other, give feedback, and support each other in our healing.
Why feminine yoga?
Yoga is originally a male practice and many asanas (postures) and movement sequences are tailored to the (youthful) male body. Especially the cyclical aspect of our female being, as well as its physical needs, have not been taken into account here, let alone circumstances such as endometriosis, PCOS or fertility treatments.
Dynamic yoga styles, such as Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga, can also trigger additional pressure to perform. In today’s meritocracy, many women are already under pressure think that they have to achieve and earn as much as men do, while at the same time feeling responsible for the household and family (creation). Our yoga practice should therefore not increase these feelings, but rather defuse it.
It is therefore time for us women to practice yoga according to our own standards. Instead of living against our cyclical nature, through yoga we can find our way back to living in harmony with it. This allows us to balance our hormones, reduce PMS, counteract symptoms of endometriosis and PCOS, and support our bodies in times of desire to have children.
In addition, yoga can restore access to our very original feminine power to strengthen our self-confidence, foster creativity, and live our sensuality.
What is feminine yoga?
Feminine yoga is a way of practicing yoga that corresponds to the female body and adapts to its circumstances. It relates to the individual needs of women, depending on what their body and psyche needs. Instead of practicing yoga at the same intensity throughout the cycle, we adapt our yoga practice to the different phases of the cycle.
In addition, we can specifically use yoga to counteract hormonal imbalance and resulting problems, to come back to rest and to return to our own desires and needs. We find deceleration in a masculine-dominated society by reconsidering the power of femininity.
Yoga practice can help us to experience healing both physically and emotionally, and I look forward to accompanying you on this journey. I teach Moon Yoga®, Yin Yoga, (Gentle) Vinyasa Yoga and also incorporate the Embodied Yoga Principles into my hours. More details can be found here.
Are you ready to reconnect with your body?
Often we lose contact with our body, our womb and thus our power centre due to diseases such as endometriosis and PCOS, trauma or simply a stressful everyday life. We feel numb, sluggish and at the mercy of the opinions of doctors, who often see only the pill as a solution to any “women’s problems”.
By taking responsibility for our lives and health and reconnecting with our bodies, we can work with it to find a way of healing.
Let’s go this path together. I look forward to it!
